The rehabilitative treatments are conducted according to the instructions given by the attending surgeons from the community or our doctors. The treatment instructions change according to the child’s functional status, and the team of therapists can consult freely with the medical team at any time.
The rehabilitation process is suitable for
children with a new orthopedic problem, for children who have just had surgery, or to improve the functional status of children with chronic diagnoses. This process occurs in one of 3 frameworks at ALYN: outpatient clinics, day hospital/partial hospitalization (נועה זה התרגום הנכון לאשפוז יום?), or full hospitalization. The treatment framework differs from one child to another and changes throughout the rehabilitation process, according to the child’s condition.
The cooperation and the familial and social support of the child comprise a significant part of the orthopedic rehabilitation process. Family and children will often be required to perform exercises in between the treatments, either during hospitalization or at home. The success of the child and of the entire rehabilitation process depends on everyone's cooperation!
