Good head control is a basic condition for a range of essential functions - maintaining eye contact, eating, communication and operating rehabilitative technology through eye movements if required.
Special head rests are expensive and are not fully financed by the Ministry of Health. Ma’ayan runs a loaning project for head rests. Specialist occupational therapists and the Head of the Technical Service meet the child, assess his needs and adapt a head rest for him, which he will receive on loan for a short trial period for a range of different life-situations (travel, eating, operation of technology and more) before making the decision to purchase one.
