We are thrilled to share with you the latest advancements from our Motion Analysis Laboratory (MAL), under the expert guidance of Dr. Simon-Henri Schless, the Director of the lab.
Our journey since 2019 has been nothing short of remarkable, with over 1000 3D gait analyses and approximately 175 series of biofeedback training sessions conducted, amounting to nearly 1500 individual sessions.
While quantifying improvement in gait can be challenging due to its subjective nature, we've observed significant enhancements in gait patterns and functions. However, it's essential to note that "improvement" is not solely data-driven; it's also about how the patient feels. Sometimes, the numbers show progress, but the patient may not perceive it, and sometimes, it's the other way around.
Our MAL has become a cornerstone for clinical planning, offering invaluable data that has led to an increase in patient referrals from medical practitioners nationwide. They recognize the benefits of our multidisciplinary approach, which often results in optimal treatment plans and the avoidance of unnecessary surgical interventions. This success is a testament to ALYN's unique philosophy, which integrates rehabilitation as a core component of treatment.
Our commitment to innovation and excellence has been recognized in several international peer-reviewed academic journals. Here are some of our recent publications showcasing the state-of-the-art techniques employed at ALYN's motion lab:
In a groundbreaking study involving 150 children with brain injuries, we found that nearly all participants showed improvements in gait function—be it walking distance or speed—after undergoing at least six biofeedback training sessions. This research is currently being prepared for publication in a prestigious journal.
Moreover, we are analyzing data from 50 individuals who have undergone biofeedback training to enhance their gait quality. This innovative research is poised to captivate the clinical community's interest. For a glimpse into this work, please refer to the abstract published in June 2020:
