"I said to myself: What could possibly happen?"

Let me introduce you to Noam, an extraordinary teen with an incredible journey. Here’s his story, in his own words.

"My name is Noam, I'm 16 years old from Be'er Sheva, and I have a story I never thought I would share at such a young age. It started like any other regular Friday, with our usual group at Bnei Akiva.

Laughter, games, and goofing off – exactly how we like it. At some point, one of the friends suggested something that felt a little risky, but as always, I went along with it. "What could go wrong?" I told myself. In hindsight, that was the moment my life changed.

We were playing tag on a tarp that was covering the playground. It wasn’t long before the tarp tore. I fell, and I immediately knew something was very wrong. I couldn’t move. Within minutes, the ambulance arrived, and from there, everything escalated quickly. Soroka Hospital, surgeries, shock. In the end, I ended up at ALYN, a rehabilitation center for children in Jerusalem, where I’ve spent almost all my time over the last six months.

The most important thing I discovered is how strong I am. Before the accident, I used to see tough situations as if they were the end of the world. Today, I understand that life goes on, and even when things are tough, I have the strength to keep fighting. Every day, I prove to myself that it is possible to cope, and even learn from it.

My dream? To stand up and walk again, of course. But I have other dreams too – to find something I love, to advance, maybe even meet Elon Musk. I'm no longer ashamed to dream big. My life has changed, but I’m ready to face whatever comes.

So, to everyone reading this – don’t give up. Even if you fall, you have to get up. I’m here to show you that it’s possible. "
