Question: I’ve heard that you see terrible things in Alyn. I’m concerned.
Answer: Children suffering from a wide range of problems are treated at Alyn. Some use various aids and some children do indeed look "different". We are truly proud of our ability to provide each child with the optimum treatment available i.e. we rehabilitate children with mild problems and children who are chronic cases. We believe, without a doubt that a child with special needs has the right to be integrated into the mainstream of society and must not be hidden away. The Outpatient Clinics of the Hospital are, however, separate from the rehabilitation and intensive care departments and treat children who live at home - most of these patients look like "regular" children.

Question: My child is already being treated in a specialists’ clinic. What is the difference between the clinic at Alyn and other clinics?
Answer: Alyn clinics are unique owing to the multidisciplinary evaluation which each patient receives. Each child is treated as a holistic entity rather than as having a specific problem. The long-term treatment plan is a result of coordination between the medical problem ( the physician), the functional condition ( paramedical therapists) and the child’s family situation (social worker or psychologist) . The whole team convenes to plan the optimal way of caring for the child.
